To apply for a vacancy please ensure you fully complete our standard Application Form and the Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form.  These should be sent, along with a covering letter, addressed to the Headteacher, by email to: [email protected]. Your covering letter should include why you feel you are suitable, with particular reference to the skills and attributes you would bring to the role that are detailed in the Person Specification.

Teaching Staff positions

Caldicott teachers work term time, 32 weeks in a typical year.  Full-time teachers work Monday to Friday, plus Saturday mornings and are required to be present for one evening boarding duty per week.

 

Maths Teacher

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an able and inspiring teacher to join our highly successful Maths Department. This full-time position is for a person who has a degree in Maths (or equivalent) and qualified teacher status. S/he will be able to foster a supportive, dynamic, professional department and be eager to continuously develop their own teaching skills, enjoy leading and sharing ideas with colleagues and collaborating across departments. The position also requires understanding of KS2 and KS3. 

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an enthusiastic teacher with excellent interpersonal skills;
  • have a genuine passion for Maths;
  • have a proven track record of success that would add to Caldicott’s academic culture;
  • be equally at home teaching those who find the subject hard and those who work at a level above their age group; and
  • be a resourceful, resilient and good-humoured team player.

 

 

Head of Computing

We are looking for a dynamic and inspirational Head of Computing who has the skills and vision to lead and develop this key department. This full time position is for a person who has a relevant degree and qualified teacher status.  S/he will be an ambitious and energetic subject specialist who has the drive and commitment to build on the success we already have and promote innovation through STEAM subjects.

The successful candidate will have:

  • the management skills and aptitudes of first class Head of Department and classroom teacher;
  • outstanding subject knowledge, keeping abreast of latest developments in Engineering, Design, Technology, Computer Science and Coding/Programming;
  • demonstrable success in the teaching of coding, eg Raspberry Pi, and running a First Lego League programme;
  • the vision and ability to promote these subjects to pupils and parents alike;
  • a proven track record of success that would add to Caldicott’s academic culture;
  • excellent interpersonal skills, resilience, and the ability to work as a part of a collaborative team and
  • be equally at home teaching those who find the subject hard and those who work at a level above their age group.

 

 

Support Staff

 

Chef

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced Chef to join our catering team. We are looking for a flexible, reliable and self-motivated team player who is able to work in a pressurised environment. You will have a “can-do” attitude and good communication skills which are key to being part of a team of 6 who run our kitchen safely, smoothly and hygienically.  You will have an excellent working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements and standards and you will hold City and Guilds 706-1/2 or NVQ level 1 or 2 in food preparation and cooking, or equivalent.

 

 

‚ÄčSchool Secretary and Receptionist

We are seeking a capable professional School Secretary and Receptionist to support the PA to the Deputy Heads/Office Manager and School Administrator/Logistics Coordinator in the smooth running of our busy school office. S/he will provide exceptional customer service over a wide variety of tasks.

In particular, the successful candidate will:

  • be well organised and adaptable;
  • be confident with MS Office applications, Outlook, Word and Excel in particular; also in the use of using databases such as iSAMS for reporting and administrative processes
  • have excellent interpersonal skills, with a cheerful “can do” attitude;
  • be a resilient and energetic character to respond effectively in a very busy office environment;
  • be a calm team player who can prioritise effectively and work efficiently.

 

 

Matron (Mornings Only)

We are looking for an energetic and friendly part-time Matron to join our boarding house team, working under the direction of the Senior Matron, to help with the pupil’s weekday early morning routine. Ideally you will have previous experience of working with young people and have a very positive “can-do” practical approach to help with the morning routine of bed making and dormitory organisation. You will of course need to be a warm and welcoming presence in the boarding house and be a helpful and caring team member.

 

Bus Driver

Many of our pupils live in London and we provide bus services to bring them to and from the school. The school currently runs services for Brook Green, Chiswick, Notting Hill and locally to/from Godstowe School and Junction 4 M40, Handy Cross, Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross. We now have a vacancy to join our friendly team of School Bus Drivers, term time only for early morning, afternoon and evening runs.   

The successful applicant will have:

  • a clean driving licence (with D1)
  • good communication skills
  • the ability to establish and maintain appropriate behaviour of pupils
  • patience and the ability to keep calm; and
  • be attentive and observant at all times

 

Gap Year Placement Students

We have a rolling programme of one-year student placements for international students and Old Caldicotians who are looking for development opportunities as part of their gap year before going to university.

  • Overseas applicants should apply via Letz Live for these roles, which run with the calendar year from January.
