The Caldicott Foundation

At the time we launched the plans for the virtual schooling in April 2020, parents were advised that not only would the school fee be adjusted, but they were invited to contribute to a hardship fund by either paying the full fee or a different sum of money. This was the first time we referred to a ‘Caldicott Foundation’ and it lead to generous donations that offset monies owing from last summer’s school fee from a number of families.

Our aim is to maintain Caldicott’s pre-eminence within the independent prep school sector by attracting and supporting the most promising boys from an increasingly diverse group of families, who would not otherwise be able to afford some or all of the school fees.

Our mission at Caldicott is to create the conditions and circumstances where boys fulfil their academic potential and are all-rounders with the character and grit to succeed. Fee income alone sustains Caldicott while philanthropy will enable our school to achieve agreed aims faster, widen diversity, increase access and contribute to our resilience in a tough business environment.

A successful Caldicott Foundation will generate funds for capital projects that will be a legacy of celebrations to mark the school’s 125th Anniversary in 2029 and offer meaningful bursary provision. Our target is £8m to £10m.

The headmaster would be delighted to hear from anyone who shares our vision and would like to play a part in achieving these ambitious goals. Please contact his PA, Lisa Botwright, to arrange a meeting: [email protected]
