Thank You and Goodbye, Ma'am Rule

26 March 2021

As the Spring Term comes to an end, it is sadly time to say goodbye to a much-loved member of staff. For over 9 years, Ma’am Rule has been inspiring and teaching our youngest boys and has watched them grow up into the brilliant young men they are today. These boys are now ready to face any challenge with the necessary grit and determination, and that is in no small part thanks to her. She has been involved in every aspect of school life, and as Mr Banks said in the End of Term assembly, he was not surprised when she told him of her intentions to pursue a Deputy Headship position, and similarly unsurprised when she was successful.

On her final day, Ma’am Rule’s 1st Form (Year 3) class surprised her with an incredibly heart-warming ‘party’. They started by reading out poems, jokes and farewell messages and giving on a couple of meaningful presents; this was an incredibly special moment. The boys then played a variety of games before decorating their Easter bags, although they had to catch the Mad Hatter (who was certainly not just Mr Irvine wearing a hat) to get chocolate eggs to fill their bags. This party was the perfect way to send off Ma’am Rule, with her also getting a well-deserved schoolwide applause in assembly.

The whole of Caldicott would like to wish Ma’am Rule the best of luck in her very exciting Deputy Headship position at Witham Hall School, in Lincolnshire. They are lucky to have her, and we are certain she will do an exceptional job.
