Teaching Staff positions

Caldicott teachers work term time, 32 weeks in a typical year.  Full-time teachers work Monday to Friday, plus Saturday mornings and are required to be present for one evening boarding duty per week.

 

Head of Maths

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an able and inspiring Head of Maths to lead our highly successful Maths Department.  This full time position is for a person who has a degree in Maths (or equivalent) and qualified teacher status.  S/he will be able to foster a supportive, dynamic, professional department and be eager to continuously develop their own teaching skills, enjoy leading and sharing ideas with colleagues and collaborating across departments.  The position requires understanding of KS2 and KS3, but as Caldicott is committed to promoting the highest expectations, experience of teaching the GCSE syllabus would be most desirable.  A strong academic track record; confidence in teaching across KS2 and up to 13+ Common Entrance and scholarship level plus excellent interpersonal skills are key to success in this role.

Head of Computing

We are looking for a dynamic and inspirational Head of Computing who has the skills and vision to lead and develop this key department. This full time position is for a person who has a relevant degree and qualified teacher status.  S/he will be an ambitious and energetic subject specialist who has the drive and commitment to build on the success we already have and promote innovation through STEAM subjects.

The successful candidate will have:

  • the management skills and aptitudes of first class Head of Department and classroom teacher;
  • outstanding subject knowledge, keeping abreast of latest developments in Engineering, Design, Technology, Computer Science and Coding/Programming;
  • demonstrable success in the teaching of coding, eg Raspberry Pi, and running a First Lego League programme;
  • the vision and ability to promote these subjects to pupils and parents alike;
  • a proven track record of success that would add to Caldicott’s academic culture;
  • excellent interpersonal skills, resilience, and the ability to work as a part of a collaborative team and
  • be equally at home teaching those who find the subject hard and those who work at a level above their age group.

 

 

Head of Theology, Philosophy and Religion

A position to join our highly successful staffroom as Head of Theology, Philosophy and Religion has arisen. This full time position is for a person with a relevant degree and qualified teacher status.  S/he will be able to foster a supportive, dynamic, professional department and be eager to continuously develop their own teaching skills, enjoy leading and sharing ideas with colleagues and collaborating across departments.  The position requires understanding of KS2 and KS3, but as Caldicott is committed to promoting the highest expectations, experience of teaching the GCSE syllabus would be most desirable.  A strong academic track record; confidence in teaching across KS2 and up to 13+ Common Entrance and scholarship level plus excellent interpersonal skills are key to success in this role.

Support Staff

 

‚ÄčPA to Deputy Heads and Office Manager

A new position is available to support our Senior Leadership Team: a PA to the Deputy Heads: Senior Deputy Head (Academic), Deputy Head (Pastoral) and Deputy Head (Management). This is a key role, as a professional and polished ambassador for the school at all times, based in our busy main office and acting as Office Manager. The primary responsibilities of the PA/Office Manager will be to provide administrative and organisational support for the Deputy Heads but also to perform key process tasks to facilitate and support a range of service and functions for the wider school community.

The successful candidate will be:

  • an experienced senior level PA, confident with a busy and varied workload;
  • flexible, adaptable and very well organised;
  • confident with MS Office applications, Outlook, Word and Excel in particular; also in the use of using databases such as iSAMS for reporting and administrative processes;
  • a resilient and resourceful individual;
  • a calm team player who can prioritise effectively and work efficiently, and
  • have excellent interpersonal skills, with a cheerful “can do” attitude and confident in communicating appropriately with a wide variety of contacts across the school and parent body.

 

 

School Administrator and Logistics Coordinator

An opportunity has arisen for a School Administrator/Logistics Co-ordinator to play a key customer facing role in our busy front office. S/he will be responsible for the daily co-ordination and smooth running of the school bus service for the Bursar, in co-operation with school bus drivers, parents, pupils and staff. This role is vital in giving a positive and professional first impression of the school and will involve working collaboratively with two colleagues in the front office, the School Secretary and PA to Deputies, in busy times.

School Secretary and Receptionist

We are seeking a capable professional School Secretary and Receptionist to support the PA to the Deputy Heads/Office Manager and School Administrator/Logistics Coordinator in the smooth running of our busy school office. S/he will provide exceptional customer service over a wide variety of tasks.

In particular, the successful candidate will:

  • be well organised and adaptable;
  • be confident with MS Office applications, Outlook, Word and Excel in particular; also in the use of using databases such as iSAMS for reporting and administrative processes
  • have excellent interpersonal skills, with a cheerful “can do” attitude;

Grounds Apprentice (Horticulture)

We have a new opportunity for a Grounds Apprentice (Horticulture) to join our dedicated team.  They will learn all aspects of Grounds work, with particular focus on developing horticultural skills and knowledge to ensure the Headmaster’s Garden and Study Lawn area are well presented.  They will also work when required on general grounds preparation and sports pitch preparation and care.    

Gap Year Placement Students

We have a rolling programme of one-year student placements for international students and Old Caldicotians who are looking for development opportunities as part of their gap year before going to university.
